Comprehensive PGT Services

At Alhaya Fertility Centre, we employ cutting-edge technologies capable of performing all three types of PGT – PGT-A, PGT-M, and PGT-HLA – simultaneously from a single biopsy. This innovative approach has been shown to be capable of performing the genetic tests concurrently, surpassing other systems that require two biopsies and may potentially compromise embryo viability, resulting in the downgrading of otherwise good embryos or blastocysts.

PGT A (Aneuploidy Screening)

Clinical Indication:

PGT A is recommended for individuals or couples with a history of recurrent miscarriages, advanced maternal age, or previous chromosomal abnormalities. The primary objective is to identify embryos with the correct number of chromosomes, reducing the risk of implantation failure and miscarriage.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Enhanced embryo selection for higher implantation potential.
  • Reduced risk of chromosomal abnormalities.

PGT M (Monogenic/Single Gene Disorders):

Clinical Indication:

PGT M is ideal for couples carrying a known genetic mutation, aiming to prevent the transmission of monogenic disorders to their offspring. It is recommended for individuals with a family history of such disorders.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Identification and transfer of embryos free from specific genetic mutations.
  • Mitigation of the risk of passing on hereditary diseases.

PGT SR (Structural Rearrangement):

Clinical Indication:

PGT SR is applicable for couples with structural rearrangements in their chromosomes, reducing the risk of transmitting chromosomal imbalances to their children.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Improved embryo selection, minimizing the risk of structural chromosomal abnormalities.
  • Increased chances of a successful pregnancy.

PGT HLA TYPING (Human Leukocyte Antigen Typing):

Clinical Indication:

PGT HLA Typing is suitable for couples aiming to conceive a child who can serve as a potential donor for a sibling with a life-threatening condition that requires stem cell transplantation.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Selection of embryos compatible with the required HLA type.
  • Facilitation of stem cell transplantation for the affected sibling.

Single Biopsy for All PGT, Reducing Blastocyst Damage:

At Alhaya Fertility Centre, all PGT services, including PGT A, PGT M, PGT SR, and PGT HLA Typing, can be seamlessly performed from a single biopsy. This innovative approach minimizes damage to the blastocyst, ensuring a less invasive and more patient-friendly process.

In-House Experts with Daily Expertise:

Our PGT services are conducted in-house by our expert team, well-versed in the intricacies of genetic testing. Their daily dedication to this field ensures precision, reliability, and personalized care for every patient.

How PGT is Done

  1. Blastocyst Biopsy: A small number of cells are safely removed from the outer layer of the blastocyst.
  2. Genetic Analysis: The extracted cells undergo genetic analysis to determine chromosomal normalcy or the presence of specific genetic mutations.
  3. Embryo Transfer: Only embryos free from identified abnormalities are selected for transfer into the uterus.
