Dr. Haris Hamzah, a past member of the board of Directors of ASPIRE (Asia Pacific Initiative on Reproduction), graduated from the University of Malaya Medical School Kuala Lumpur in 1977 and achieved a post-graduate MRCOG abroad in London’s Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 1994.
Dr. Haris Hamzah is an active player in the reproductive medicine field, appointed by the Committee of Ministry Malaysia to establish Regulation and Legislation of ART (Assisted Reproductive Technology) practice in Malaysia, and establishing a low-cost IVF programme called SMART IVF for Malaysian Citizens in June 2011. Amongst other achievements, he established the 1st IVF centre in Subang Jaya Medical Centre jointly with Prof. J.L. Yovich of PIVET Laboratories (W. Australia), resulting in the 1st IVF healthy live birth in Malaysia in 1987. Currently, Dr. Haris Hamzah is available in Alhaya Fertility Centre and serves as a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynecologist and Fertility Specialist.
