1. KWSP Withdrawal for IVF Treatment in Malaysia
The Employees Provident Fund (KWSP/EPF) allows eligible members to withdraw savings from their Akaun Sejahtera (Account 2) for approved fertility treatments.
This can help couples use their existing retirement savings to manage fertility treatment costs.
What Fertility Treatments Are Covered Under KWSP?
According to KWSP, eligible fertility treatments include:
- In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF)
- Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)
- Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)
The treatment must meet KWSP’s eligibility requirements and be performed at a qualifying medical institution in Malaysia.
Who Is Eligible for KWSP Fertility Treatment Withdrawal?
Applicants generally must:
- Be Malaysian EPF members below 55 years old.
- Be legally married.
- Have sufficient savings in Akaun Sejahtera.
- Undergo eligible fertility treatment.
- Meet KWSP’s requirements on treatment sponsorship and supporting documents.
Both husband and wife may apply individually or jointly, subject to KWSP’s conditions.
Can I Claim KWSP After Paying for IVF?
Yes. KWSP allows reimbursement for eligible fertility treatment expenses that have already been paid, subject to its requirements.
At Alhaya Fertility Centre, patients planning to use the pay-and-claim method should retain their treatment invoices and original payment receipts.
KWSP generally requires receipts for reimbursement applications to be no more than one year old.
KWSP also provides a payment-to-medical-institution option for qualifying outstanding bills. Patients should confirm the applicable process before treatment.
Documents Required for KWSP IVF Withdrawal
Documents may include:
- Identification documents.
- Marriage certificate.
- Fertility treatment invoice or bill.
- Original payment receipts for reimbursement.
- Medical report or fertility treatment confirmation.
- KWSP LPP-2 form, where applicable.
- Additional documents requested by KWSP.
Patients may refer to the official KWSP Fertility Treatment Withdrawal information for current requirements.
2. 0% IVF Instalment Plans with Maybank, CIMB and Public Bank
Couples who prefer to spread their treatment expenses over monthly payments may consider a 0% Credit Card Easy Payment Plan (EPP).
Alhaya Fertility Centre offers patients the option to enquire about available 0% instalment arrangements involving Maybank, CIMB and Public Bank.
Under a qualifying merchant EPP, eligible treatment expenses can be divided into monthly credit card instalments without interest, provided the bank’s terms are met.
Which Banks Offer 0% IVF Instalment Plans?
| Bank | Instalment Programme | Bank’s Published Programme Tenure |
| Maybank / Maybank Islamic | EzyPay / EzyPay-i | Up to 24 months |
| CIMB | 0% Easy Pay | 24 months |
| Public Bank / Public Islamic Bank | Zero Interest Instalment Plan (ZIIP) / Zero Profit Instalment Plan (ZPIP) | 24 months |
Important: These are general instalment ranges published by the banks. The actual instalment periods, eligible cards and minimum transaction amounts available at Alhaya must be confirmed with the Centre before payment.
How Does the 0% IVF Instalment Plan Work?
Step 1 — Choose Your Fertility Treatment
Following a fertility consultation, patients receive a recommended treatment plan and cost estimate.
Step 2 — Check Your Credit Card Eligibility
Confirm whether your Maybank, CIMB or Public Bank credit card is eligible for an instalment arrangement currently available at Alhaya.
Step 3 — Select an Available Instalment Period
Choose from the repayment periods offered for your qualifying transaction.
Step 4 — Pay Through the EPP
The eligible transaction is processed under the bank’s instalment programme. The monthly instalments are subsequently billed to your credit card.
Patients should request the EPP before the card transaction is processed.
Example of a 0% IVF Instalment Plan
For illustration, assume an eligible treatment payment of RM12,000 qualifies for a 12-month 0% EPP.
| Description | Amount |
| Treatment Payment | RM12,000 |
| Interest Rate | 0% |
| Instalment Period | 12 months |
| Monthly Instalment | RM1,000 |
| Total Repayment | RM12,000 |
This calculation is illustrative. It does not confirm that a 12-month arrangement is available for this transaction at Alhaya.
Important Things to Know Before Applying
- You must have an eligible credit card from a participating bank.
- Your available credit limit normally needs to cover the full EPP transaction.
- The instalment period is subject to the bank’s participating-merchant arrangement.
- Minimum transaction amounts and eligible treatment expenses may vary.
- Monthly payments must be made on time to avoid applicable credit card charges.
Patients should confirm the available arrangements directly with Alhaya before making payment.

3. Shariah-Compliant IVF Financing Through Direct Lending
For couples who require medical financing, Alhaya Fertility Centre also provides access to the Direct Lending medical instalment arrangement through Lenda Pay, subject to the provider’s current terms.
This option allows eligible applicants to finance qualifying medical expenses through fixed monthly repayments.
Unlike the bank’s 0% EPP, Direct Lending financing involves a monthly profit charge.
How Much Can Couples Apply for?
Direct Lending advertises medical financing of RM300 to RM10,000 per applicant, subject to approval.
Both husband and wife may submit separate applications.
| Applicant | Potential Financing Amount |
| Wife | Up to RM10,000 |
| Husband | Up to RM10,000 |
| Combined Potential | Up to RM20,000 |
Important: The RM20,000 amount is not an automatic joint entitlement. Both spouses must apply and qualify individually. The combined treatment-payment arrangement must also be accepted by the financing provider and Alhaya.
What Are the Direct Lending Instalment Terms?
The provider’s published medical financing information includes:
- Financing Amount: RM300–RM10,000 per applicant
- Repayment Period: 3, 6, 9 or 12 months
- Profit Rate: Published at 1.5% per month
- Financing Structure: Shariah-compliant Commodity Murabahah via Tawarruq
- Application Platform: Lenda Pay
The final repayment amount depends on the financing offer and approved terms.
How to Apply for Direct Lending Medical Financing
- Request a fertility treatment cost estimate from Alhaya.
- Register through the Lenda Pay application.
- Submit the identification and financial documents requested.
- Complete the individual financing assessment.
- Review the approved financing amount and repayment schedule.
- Confirm the payment arrangement with Alhaya.
Applicants should understand the full repayment amount, profit charges and financing terms before accepting an offer.
For further information, visit the Direct Lending Medical Instalment Plan.
4. Can PruBSN Anggun Mom Care Cover IVF Treatment?
Patients holding a qualifying PruBSN Anggun certificate with the Mom Care rider may be eligible for reimbursement of covered fertility treatment expenses.
The Mom Care rider includes a Fertility Care Benefit covering eligible IVF or IUI treatment, subject to its terms.
How Much Can Be Claimed for IVF?
The published PruBSN Mom Care Fertility Care Benefit provides reimbursement of:
Up to 40% of the Rider Sum Covered or RM10,000, whichever is lower.
This does not mean that PruBSN will reimburse 40% of every IVF treatment bill.
The amount payable depends on the rider’s Sum Covered, eligible expenses, certificate conditions and approval.
Who May Be Eligible?
Applicants must meet the applicable certificate conditions, including:
- Holding a qualifying PruBSN Anggun certificate with the Mom Care rider.
- Having the relevant fertility benefit in force.
- Meeting the applicable 18-month waiting period.
- Meeting the rider’s marital-status and other eligibility conditions.
- Submitting the necessary treatment documentation and claim forms.
Can Patients Claim for IVF Treatment at Alhaya?
Patients who undergo fertility treatment at Alhaya may submit their treatment documentation to PruBSN for assessment if they hold qualifying coverage.
Alhaya can assist with clinic-issued treatment invoices, receipts and relevant medical documentation.
All claims remain subject to PruBSN’s assessment and approval.
Patients should contact their servicing takaful agent or PruBSN before starting treatment to confirm their individual coverage.
For details, refer to the PruBSN Anggun Mom Care Product Disclosure Sheet.
5. Is IVF Treatment Eligible for Income Tax Relief in Malaysia?
Yes. Eligible fertility treatment expenses may qualify for Malaysian personal income tax relief.
The Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN) includes qualifying fertility treatment expenses within the applicable medical-expense relief provisions for married individuals.
For the relevant assessment year, fertility treatment expenses form part of a combined eligible medical-expense category with a RM10,000 limit, subject to LHDN rules.
This does not mean every patient will receive RM10,000 in cash or a RM10,000 tax refund.
Tax relief reduces taxable income, and the actual tax saving depends on the individual’s circumstances.
Documents to Keep
Patients should retain:
- Original fertility treatment receipts.
- Itemised treatment invoices.
- Relevant medical certification.
- Other documents required by LHDN.
Patients should verify the requirements for their particular year of assessment before submitting their tax returns.
